Linnea - 11/30/2018

Linnea ate bites of oatmeal and ate dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of everything; tilapia, whole wheat elbow noodles, green beans, and applesauce.  This little girl is a great eater!!  :) This first picture was taken yesterday afternoon and I was amused how 4 out of 5 of my kids (Avi wasn't here) were using such a small area of the room!  And they played like this for several minutes.  Believe me, sometimes I need and use every square inch of the area!! Other times like this I only need a spot 4' x 5' and that's enough! Atley arrived shortly after Linnea, but I took this next picture first.  We were doing a selfie and I asked Linnea if I could have a love.  You are so precious Linnea.  There were just two kids, Atley and Linnea, here for over 30 minutes first thing this morning and for awhile they were running and crawling between the igloo and the box.  Judging from the squealing, laughing, and gigg...

Linnea ate several bites of whole wheat bagel and two servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger & sausage pizza, whole wheat pizza crust, with olives, pineapple, peppers, tomato sauce, and a large serving of pineapple on the side.  Have I mentioned lately what a good eater Linnea is!  :) I think Linnea may have been telling me she was poopy this morning.  She was looking at me and patting her butt.  And sure enough she was poopy!  I know, I know she's brilliant AND advanced!! Right Momma!?!  Just teasing ya Becca!  :)  Actually, Linnea is a very smart little girl and it's fascinating to watch these children develop and grow.  I feel very privileged!  :) First picture: I think this was when Nora's Daddy was driving by.  I didn't capture them all waving, but Linnea was also saying, "bye bye bye bye" along with the other two.  Nora on the left, Atley on the right.  Here's a side note for t...

Linnea ate whole wheat toast and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork roast, whole wheat tortillas, carrots, potatoes, and fruit salad. I love how the kids like their morning routines!  And we have LOTS of routines (all day) at Little Treasures!  Linnea walked over to the window to wave at Daddy, but first she points to the music (iPod - with lots of kid's songs) on the shelf.  Turn that on.  Check!  Wave at Daddy!  Check!  Sit down and take off shoes!  Check!  Take off socks!  Check!  :) First picture: I've not seen Linnea even look at this ball before, but she was reaching for it this morning.  Ha!  And she was saying, "ba ba ba ba."  (It was a gift - autographed basketball from a friend that knows we like watching Lady Griz basketball.)  Then Linnea was pointing to my shirt (with Daffy Duck) and I said, "Quack quack!"  She said, "kak, kak!"  :) Second picture: Li...

Linnea ate toasted whole wheat english muffin and dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate several bites of chicken, ate brown rice, stir fry vegetables, and oranges. Linnea is such a cutie and a sweetie!  I'm totally in love!  Ha!  (It happens all the time in this line of work!!)  When Atley's Momma was leaving Megan was giving Atley a love with one arm and giving Linnea a love with the other arm and Linnea just laid her head on Megan's shoulder.  So sweet.  Linnea was making the "at" sound for Atley.  :) Ok, we have lots of pictures today so here we go:  Before anyone else arrived Linnea was playing in the box and I was having fun taking pictures!!  How cute is this!?!  Picture number 2 and 3 kind of go together.  I gave Linnea a toy (ice cream!) while I was changing her and she was being silly with it. Then when I was done and putting her on the floor she spotted the puppy across the street and sprinted to the windo...

Linnea ate chex cereal and banana for breakfast.  For lunch she had bites of ground beef, no whole wheat pita bread, ate olives, bite of tomatoes, bite of avocado, and ate strawberries. The funnest thing about returning from a trip is the excitement and joy with the Little Treasures children.  Lots of loves and snuggles and they're so excited to be back with their buddies.  I want to thank all of you again for allowing me to extend Thanksgiving time-off to include the entire week.  So precious to be with our family and new grandson Gideon - six weeks old on Thanksgiving Day.  We had Thanksgiving dinner at Gideon's Great Grandmother's house.  (20 relatives and very special time to meet them all.)  We had something I bet none of you had!?!  A 5" lizard climbing up the side of the tablecloth right beside Lauralea!  So hilarious!  My Son-in-Law grabbed it with his left hand and kept on eating with his right hand!!  (Look up the defini...

Linnea ate bites of brown rice and raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate salmon, no whole wheat dinner roll, ate riced cauliflower, and mangoes.  Linnea was getting pretty tired by 11:00 so she ate lunch then before the others and went down for a nap a bit early.  Other than fussing at that time she had a good morning, played hard, and stayed busy busy busy!! First I want to remind everyone that Little Treasures will be closed for ALL of Thanksgiving week. I want to say a very heartfelt Thank You to all my families for allowing me this opportunity to be with my Daughter, her Husband, and their new Baby Boy.  I can hardly wait to get my hands on that little guy!!  Thank you all so much.  The Blogs will resume on Monday, November 26th. I took this first  picture soon after she arrived.  She got a piece of dress-up clothes, put it over her head, and took off blindly across the room.  Silly girl!  I showed her the picture and she sni...

Linnea ate half of toasted whole wheat english muffin and ate oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a large serving of everything: ground beef, whole wheat elbow noodles, peas, and applesauce. This next bit is pretty normal for all the kids, but it kind of tickles me!  Linnea was standing at the window waving bye to Daddy and Anders.  When they drove off her eyes never moved; she kept staring straight ahead just like she had been doing.  Finally she moved on - straight to the dress-up clothes and bowl with a spoon!  :) Things were a bit different for about 45 minutes this morning.  Lauralea watched the kids for me while I went and got a new (used) king size mattress for the kids to jump on!  It's considerably bigger and they were all thrilled!  Avi said, "I like this new mattress Gary!!"  The old mattress had years of use and abuse and was pretty worn!!  :)  Now I have to go get some fitted sheets tonight! Here are some ...

Linnea ate most of her french toast and ate strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of paleo stew with meat, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, and green beans.  She ate bites of crackers and ate tropical fruit. When Lauralea was leaving she said, "Bye" to Linnea and Linnea said, "Bye bye" just as plain as could be!  Which got Lauralea all excited!  :)  Nice job Linnea! The lady that monitors the Food Program was here this morning making sure I'm following procedure and feeding the kids what I am suppose to be feeding them, checking temperatures in freezer and refrigerator, see if menu is posted, check attendance records, etc and etc..... Everyone did great with a stranger here except I had to get Linnea's pacifier for her.  Linnea was around the corner and started crying immediately when she heard a stranger's voice.  :)  Before she even saw the person's face. Linnea had a great morning and here are some pictures of our busy...

Linnea ate waffle and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of chicken, whole wheat tortilla, ate corn, and baked cinnamon apples. We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend, Linnea was gone yesterday, so today was the big day for her.  She had fun and stayed busy all morning.  I even had to coax her to go to the window to wave at Daddy and Brother after drop-off and that never happens. Whenever the kids take off their socks and/or shoes they know to pick them up and put them on the changing table.  I didn't even know Linnea was aware of the "rule," but I should have known!!  She hears everything else!!  So I took a picture of her putting her socks where they go and she reached it. Nice job Linnea!  Speaking of understanding language: Atley said, "I'm poopy Gary!!"  Linnea immediately reached down and grabbed her diaper!  Ha! Here are some pictures of Linnea's morning: Atley's family gave me some big ...

Linnea ate most of oatmeal and two servings of baked cinnamon apples for breakfast.  (She loves those apples!!)  For lunch she ate a large serving of hamburger stew with meat, carrots, green beans, and potatoes.  She also ate apricots and no whole wheat tortilla.  I love how she totally knows so many of our routines here!  At meals when I bring her highchair tray she immediately lifts her arms before I ask.  When I have a wet cloth to wipe her after a meal she immediately holds out her arm before I ask.  She's very "in tune" with all of it.  I love being a part of their development and watching it hapen!! Linnea had a great morning like usual!  :)  She really is an easy-going contented child here; only fussy when she's very tired or not feeling well!  Here are some pictures from her morning.  Have I posted any pictures of her in the chair!?!  :)  If you're seeing similar pictures frequently you can assume that's a f...

Linnea ate french toast and bites of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pulled pork, whole wheat toast, bites of peas, and ate tropical fruit. First picture:  Isn't this adorable?  It almost looks like she's posing, but she was just being her sweet little self.  Linnea was sitting in the chair with a doll, then she got down and found three more dolls, put them all on the chair, climbed up and started snuggling them.  It was so cute and this picture captures it pretty well. Next picture: Half hour later, but she's back in the same chair.  It's safe to say she likes this chair.  :)  There were still a couple of dolls in the chair, but this time she was playing with combs.  And, as you can see, she was also being silly!  Chanting, making silly noises, and being loud.  And of course I was mimicking her which only encouraged her to do more of the same!! Last picture: The three older girls were in the Preschool room a...

Linnea ate most of whole wheat toast and ate mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of ground beef with marinara sauce on whole wheat spaghetti noodles, most of cauliflower, and ate fruit salad. I'm always interested in what the kids do when they first arrive; especially if they're the first one here. That was the case with Linnea this morning and here's a picture taken moments after waving bye to Daddy and Brother at the window.  The girl loves her books and she'll look at book several different times in a morning.  What was the 2nd thing she did!?  Poop.  Sorry Linnea for telling your secret.  :) Shortly after Linnea arrived so did Atley.  I've been telling you about Linnea saying hi to Atley's Momma Megan in the mornings.  So I decided to post a picture and this is what it looked like this morning.  Megan makes it very short and sweet which helps it work for Linnea!!  :) Then it was Svea and Avi's turn to arrive at L...
