Linnea's Journal

Linnea had several bites of breakfast: oatmeal and dried cranberries.  For lunch she ate tilapia, whole wheat elbow noodles, green beans, and applesauce. Linnea was probably here for 20 minutes before someone else (Atley) arrived and we had fun, or at least I did!  Haha!  I was observing her play and being silly with her.  Here are a couple of pictures I took during that time.  So far I haven't gotten a picture of this, but she likes to bend over with her feet still on the floor and her head on the floor looking between her legs.  About 90% of the kids we've had have done that same thing at this stage and age.  I also noticed while she was walking she was starting to experiment with bobbing her head around.  So she's obviously getting pretty confident about her walking! Linnea ate bites of whole wheat bagel and two servings of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger and sausage pizza on whole wheat pizza crust with tomato sauce, peppers, olives, and pineapple.  She also ate two servings of pineapple on the side. This first picture is from yesterday afternoon during outside time.  Linnea played right here in this wagon for the majority of the time we were out there until Mommy and Anders arrived.  I just think this is a cute picture of her!! For the past several days the "older" girls have been playing with the dress-up aprons.  Avi and Atley each grab an end of the tie strings and those strings are pretty long!  They call that their "jump rope!" ha!  Today Atley said, "Let's play jump rope!"  Their jump rope play looks like a combination of jump rope, tug-o-war, chase, and run like crazy!  Linnea likes to watch them and laugh!  Then today I noticed Linnea has been packing around anothe...

Linnea ate most of whole wheat toast and ate grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate pork roast, most of whole wheat tortilla, ate carrots, and fruit salad. This first picture cracks me up!  Very typical for her age group: try to squeeze into a tight spot, doesn't quite work, so nothing to do but scream!!  Haha!  But those little houses move easily and she shoved her way through!  :)  Second picture: Linnea has a tight hold on Lauralea's finger - it was about to turn purple so I'm assuming it was tight!  ha!  She led Lauralea across the room and to the window.  Speaking of window, later in the morning Linnea spotted a kitty outside and got all excited and started smacking the window.  All the other kids went to the window and Atley said, "There's kitty, there's kitty!" Linnea ate toasted whole wheat english muffin and two servings of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of chicken, bites of brown rice, bites of stir fry vegetables, and a large serving of oranges.  So when she's taking a handful of food - is that a bite or bites!?  :) Linnea is quite the little climber isn't she?!?!  She's surprises me how fast she can get up or down and she's doing it very much under control which helps my anxiety!!  haha!!  I took this first picture shortly after she got here and she easily gets up here using the step in the lower right of the picture. Things were a little different this morning.  I went and got a DTAP immunization (Child Care Licensing requirement) while Lauralea covered for me.  Linnea did just fine for Lauralea, but I still loved her reaction when I walked back into the house.  "There you are!!"  With big grins!  I Love you too Linnea!  :)  That's the best part a...

Linnea ate cheerios and banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of ground beef, bites of whole wheat pita bread, bites of tomato, ate olives, avocado, and watermelon. Linnea had a great morning and stayed her usual busy self!  :)  I thought she was a bit tired before breakfast, but she messed around in her crib for 15 minutes and it was obvious she wasn't taking a nap!  :)  I brought her out and she watched Atley work on a puzzle.  (See picture)  "Now why can't I be out there!?!"  :) As everyone started arriving Linnea was ready to rock-n-roll!  This next picture was taken right after Avi and Svea arrived.  (That is Nora wanting to get in on the baby activities!)  Linnea played with lots of different food toys, played on steps and blue balance beam, on the mattress, and she packed around two different purses for a long time. Linnea ate some brown rice and raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of salmon patty, bite or two of whole wheat dinner roll, ate green beans, and mangoes.  Linnea had about an hour nap before breakfast this morning and that helped her a lot.  After she awoke she was in a great mood and had an awesome morning. Here are some pictures from her exploring, watching, and learning this morning.  First picture: she's watching Nora prepare the blanket for her baby.  Nora lays the doll on the floor and whips the blanket above her baby about ten times until she gets it just how she wants it!!  It is kind of fascinating to watch!! ha!  The following two pictures: Linnea was making me laugh because she was trying to stand upright in the igloo.  (I think she possibly could right in the middle.)  Anyhow, she kept trying and then peeked out to see what I was laughing at!!  That is super cute Linnea!!  :) I LOVE this next picture...

Linnea ate toasted whole wheat english muffin and two servings of oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef, whole wheat elbow noodles, peas, and applesauce.  Nothing for lunch was very conducive for finger food so I mixed it all together and she ate a bowl full that I fed to her.  :)  She doesn't seem to mind if I feed her occasionally - "just give me some food!!"  :)  At lunch time I asked the kids, "Who's the only boy today at Daycare?"  Atley said, "Anders!"  Haha!  Pretty cute and I thought it was actually a pretty good guess!   Linnea had a great morning and no apparent side effects or discomfort yet from her shots at her doctor visit this morning.  I took this first picture when Nora had joined her on the mattress after breakfast.  Shortly after this Nora found one of Linnea's socks she'd lost.  Nora brought it to me saying, "Here Gary, here."  I told her thank you and good job.  Atley heard ...

Linnea ate most of french toast and two servings of strawberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate paleo stew with meat, sweet potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, and green beans.  She also ate saltines and tropical fruit. All I have to say is; "Are you gonna wave to Daddy at the window?"  And she takes off for the window.  Eric got to watch that this morning.  Then when I asked Nora the same question when her Daddy dropped her off Linnea heard that and again headed right for the window. First picture; I was changing Linnea's poopy diaper first thing this morning and she heard the stairway gate open.  She started waving and saying, "i, i, i," (hi) before she even saw Lauralea.  She knows the routine!!  I took this picture when Lauralea poked her head around the corner.  Then in the 2nd picture Linnea was apparently trying to open the gate and she was really grunting!  Haha!  Giving maximum effort!! Linnea ate bites of waffle and ate lots of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of chicken, bites of whole wheat tortilla, half of corn, and ate baked cinnamon apples. I was sitting on the couch feeding Svea her bottle and Linnea got up on the couch as easily as could be!!  First time she's done that here!  So I was telling her to be careful as she scooted close to the edge.  In about the time it takes to blink your eye she turned over on her tummy and slid off the couch perfectly onto her feet like a pro!  Wow!  Impressed me!  So I'm assuming she's been practicing at home!?!?  :) Linnea took a fairly short (woke up pooping) nap this morning.  But here are a couple of pictures before that: Linnea was getting the hang of pushing the buttons and making the music play on the Daycare iPods.  (Ok, not even remotely close to an iPod. Linnea ate kix cereal and mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of turkey burger, most of whole wheat hamburger bun, most of tomatoes, ate avocado, and cherries. We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend so everything was different and the "older" kids are always very engaged on toy exchange Monday.  Now I'm not so sure Linnea realizes everything is different, but she was sure having fun with the xylophone that you see in the first picture.  She was coming down hard on those keys!!  Haha!! I love how comfortable Linnea is at Little Treasures!  And she certainly loves the interaction with the other kids.  She was charging around happy to see everyone!  Also, she is starting to walk like a pro!  It's amazing how fast all of that happens!! Linnea ate oatmeal and baked cinnamon apples for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hamburger stew with meat, carrots, green beans, tomatoes, and potatoes.  She had a couple bites of whole wheat dinner roll, and ate her apricots. I like this first picture of Linnea that I took yesterday afternoon doing a sweet cheesy grin.  I didn't realize until I saw the picture how well her teeth show up!!  Speaking of teeth - wow - she got a lot of teeth all at the same time.  Now that all those teeth are poking through her overall mood has improved as well!  Poor kid!!  That has to be super hard and not fun!  This picture basically depicts hows she's been doing this week even with a runny nose!! Linnea ate bites of french toast and ate dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate bites of ground beef with marinara sauce, ate whole wheat spaghetti noodles, bite of squash and that came right back out, and she ate a large serving of fruit salad.  I tried to sneak another bite of squash in with the meat, but she spotted it! Ha!  At lunch Atley said, "Linnea's making a mess!!"  Yup, that's pretty much how most meals look around her highchair and I'm glad you noticed!!  However Atley, you also have some issues; there is spaghetti hanging from your hair!!  :) Linnea and  Svea were playing near each other several times this morning.  I took this first picture when Linnea was playing in the legos drawer with Svea just keeping an eye on her.  Moments before she'd been near the book rack jabbering and Avi said, "Hey Gary!  Linnea is saying read books!! Linnea ate half of whole wheat toast and ate mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of pulled pork, half of whole wheat roll, ate a large serving of peas, and ate watermelon.  During breakfast Lauralea was here and heard Linnea say "Gary!"  Love that!!  Sounded like "Gee Gee" with a "hard G" and long "e's."  Sure glad a 2nd witness was here!!  Haha! I had Linnea at the window to wave at Daddy this morning, but a neighbor was walking by with his dogs.  Sorry Daddy!  Ha!  Linnea was glued on those dogs! Guess where Linnea went to play first thing this morning!?!  First picture tells it all!  She got the a set of keys and went right to her favorite spot!  At least it's the favorite last week and so far this week!  Well maybe this wasn't the first spot she went to - it was actually the 2nd.  Notice in the picture a sock is missing from her left foot?  Where did I find it?!  In the book area!  :)...
